Clair Rock
I’m a Brooklyn-based UX designer and information architect with a passion for making design and language more accessible. Thoughtful, inclusive experiences are at the core of my work, and I love finding creative ways to integrate them into every project. My journey in helping people share their stories and experiences through design is rooted in a background in documentary filmmaking and teaching at the college and graduate levels.
In my practice, I’m all about digging into what’s not quite working with clients' digital presences. With solid research backing me up, I guide them toward accessible solutions to enhance their users' digital journeys. I work with everyone from global health organizations to indie freelancers, but these days, my work has focused on health-related projects, balancing my skills as an information architect and UX designer.
I’m on a mission to spotlight how crucial language is in design and research. This passion led me to become the Sensemaker in Residence with The Sensemaker Club, where I’m dedicated to helping others use language to create truly accessible experiences.
When I’m not working or talking about language, you can find me exploring gaming worlds, painting miniatures, drawing or watching and reading more sci-fi than anyone really should. And of course, when I’m not doing those things you can find me going on adventures with my wife and daughter.
Pronouns: They/Them/Theirs
“I used to think that attention to detail and efficiency were mutually exclusive. That being good at one automatically meant that someone would be poor at the other. Then I met Clair.”
